LGBT Youth Scotland

Bronze Charter Award

Working Rite has been working through LGBT Youth Scotland’s Charter journey to achieve the Bronze Charter Standard Award since December of 2025. The LGBT Charter is designed to help organisations to review and improve their practices, policies, resources, and skills to ensure that young people in the LGBTQ+ community feel safe, welcomed, and comfortable when engaging with the organisation.

As part of the standard, we have reviewed five areas of focus: Leadership, Training, Policies, Practice, and Visibility. This is followed by a Monitoring and Evaluation section, in which we review the journey and evaluate the learning and changes we have made.

So far, the Working Rite team have undertaken training to improve our understanding of people in the LGBTQ+ Community, formed a Champions Group to identify organisations in our delivery area that could support LGBTQ+ young people who enroll in our programmes, and held a flag signing to demonstrate Working Rite’s dedication to ongoing learning and support of the LGBTQ+ community. We hope to complete our charter journey by the end of 2026, and achieve our Bronze Charter Mark.
