Ali’s 12-week placement with Pickfords led to an offer of employment, giving him the opportunity to develop his skills, gain experience and take his next step into work.
Pickfords
“When Ali was placed within our Aberdeen PLC account to work alongside members of our team, we quickly received positive feedback. Ali was a consistent, reliable and valued member of the team who was keen to learn with a good attitude. This then resulted in, after the 12 weeks placement, being someone we wanted to work for us, represent our brand and invest in him.
Ali has now joined us and he will be getting trained in our warehouse, back up office support and also learning how to be a removal team member carrying out moves throughout the UK.
We have high hopes for Ali and look forward to him growing in his role and learning all aspects of the business, with the right attitude the opportunities are there for him.”

“Ali's story shows the impact of employers, charities, communities and supply chain partners working together to create opportunities for young people. Through our partnership with Working Rite, we're helping to break down barriers to employment, create pathways into meaningful work, and connect young people with organisations across our supply chain.
By strengthening networks of support, we can expand opportunities, helping more young people gain experience, build confidence, and realise their potential. We believe lasting social change comes through collaboration, and we're proud to support initiatives that create brighter futures for young people and their communities.”
